"A Leviathan Ascendant" depicts a monstrous sea serpent rising from a stormy sea as a lone sorcerer prepares to drive off the coiling beast. It was created using artist's pens on Bristol board. The drawing was then scanned and colored digitally.

"A Leviathan Ascendant" first appeared on the cover of Abandoned Towers Issue #3, July 2009.
